Are we writers or marketers?
Updated: May 23, 2020
In this era of market-oriented mechanisms and vanishing privileges, are writers still allowed to dedicate themselves to simply write their books? It's a long way to market freedom and, alas!, only a few achieve it. That's why many authors – including myself –have succumbed to the necessity of creating their own website with their own name. It all sounds very self-referential while, instead, it's just a question of cultural and professional survival. Only best-selling authors and Nobel Prize winners can get away with the dimeaning practice of self-marketing.
So, here is my new website: www.ariannadagnino.com Any suggestions on how to make it better? Thanks for any help/tips you will be happy to provide.
Ah, and by the way, I am the author of the novel The Afrikaner (Guernica, 2019) – A woman scientist’s quest for love, fossils and redemption into the African wilderness. Check it out! https://www.guernicaeditions.com/title/9781771833578
